Transfer from Surfside to An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith at Adrienne Arsht Center

Our private hourly chauffeur takes you from Surfside to An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith at Adrienne Arsht Center on Friday, October 9, 2026, in a Black SUV XL at a flat rate from $100 per hour, with a 5-hour minimum. Your bilingual driver picks up the group at any address in Surfside, stays with you through the 7:00 PM show, and drives everyone home afterward.

How Much Does a Private Chauffeur From Surfside Cost? 📋

Pricing is set per vehicle and per hour, and every booking runs for at least five hours, whichever tier your group chooses.

  • Up to 5 passengers — Black SUV XL: $100/hour
  • 6 to 9 passengers — Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: $120/hour
  • 10 to 14 passengers — Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: $140/hour
  • Platinum SUV, 1 to 5 passengers: $140/hour

The hourly rate covers the whole vehicle, not each seat, so a couple in the Black SUV XL pays exactly what a full car of friends would. That keeps the math simple for a Friday concert night: select the tier that fits your headcount, multiply by the hours you keep the car, and nothing else changes. The minimum block fits the usual shape of this evening well, from an early pickup on Collins Avenue and an unhurried dinner to the show and the quiet ride back north along the water. Friends who first heard “Horses” together decades ago can ride as one party in a Sprinter instead of splitting across separate cars and meeting up in a lobby. Larger parties can compare the two Sprinter sizes above and pick the one that seats everyone comfortably.

What Price Range Should You Expect for the Ride From Surfside?

Your total depends on only two things: the vehicle tier and how many hours the car stays with you. The Black SUV XL is the starting point on the list above, and the larger Sprinter and the Platinum SUV sit at the top. A night surcharge can apply outside daytime hours, as explained further down.

What Does the Hourly Rate Include on Show Night? 🥂

Fuel, tolls, and parking are already included in the hourly rate, so none of them is added to your bill.

That matters on a Friday downtown, when garage fees and tolls can add up rapidly. Your chauffeur, the vehicle, and the waiting time between stops are all covered by the same hourly rate. A short comfort stop partway through the booking, for a restroom, a snack, or a stretch, is simple to arrange: just ask the driver, and the flat rate stays the same. The possible extra charges are simple and known in advance: a night surcharge for time outside daytime hours, and any hours you select to add beyond the booked block. If you plan to take home a signed copy of the memoir or some tour merch, there is room in the car; tell us in advance if you are bringing something big.

What Kind of Evening Is Patti Smith Bringing to Miami? 🎤

Patti Smith’s Miami date is part concert and part literary evening, built around her new memoir.

An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith takes the stage on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Ziff Ballet Opera House, the largest hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. The Arsht Center presents the night with Books & Books and the Miami Book Fair. Anticipate readings from “Bread of Angels,” stories from a life that ran from the New York punk scene to the National Book Award for “Just Kids,” and songs with her son Jackson Smith on guitar and her longtime bandmate Tony Shanahan beside her. The crowd is made up of devoted listeners, numerous of whom have followed the Godmother of Punk since the “Horses” years, alongside readers who found her through her memoirs. It is an intimate, attentive room rather than a loud arena night, and one worth talking about on the ride home.

Where Does the Driver Pick You Up in Surfside? 🏝️

Your chauffeur picks you up at any address in Surfside, agreed with you when you book.

Most show-night pickups happen at one of three kinds of places. Guests at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club or the other oceanfront hotels along Collins Avenue meet the car at the lobby entrance, and the driver pulls up at the time you set. Residents of the beachfront condominiums are picked up at the building’s front drive, so nobody has to walk the block in evening clothes. Homes on the quiet residential streets west of Harding Avenue obtain a curbside pickup right outside the front door. If part of your party is staying next door in Bal Harbour or across the bridge in Bay Harbor Islands, the driver can create a second stop there before heading south. Send the exact address when you book, and that becomes your pickup point.

How Do You Get to Adrienne Arsht Center From Surfside? 🌆

Your chauffeur drives south along the beach, crosses Biscayne Bay, and heads downtown to the venue.

From Surfside, the usual route runs down Collins Avenue through Miami Beach, west over the Julia Tuttle Causeway, and then south on Biscayne Boulevard into the performing arts district. When beach traffic is lighter, the driver may stay on the island longer and cross on the MacArthur Causeway, which comes out close to the venue. Friday traffic decides which route is faster, and your driver checks it as you go. The trip is typically a moderate crosstown drive. Still, allow extra time on an event night, because Friday rush hour, causeway traffic, and a full house arriving at once can all stretch it. Nobody in the group has to check a map, find a garage, or watch the clock while the driver handles the road.

How Early Should You Leave Surfside for the 7:00 PM Start?

Plan to reach the venue well before 7:00 PM, and leave Surfside earlier still on a Friday. Riders going straight to the show usually set a late-afternoon or early-evening pickup. Groups eating first start earlier in the afternoon. Your driver will suggest a departure time based on your dinner plans and that day’s traffic.

Where Does the Driver Drop You Off at the Opera House?

The driver drops you at the drop-off point by the Ziff Ballet Opera House entrance, as close as access allows on show night. The whole group steps out together, without circling for a garage or walking blocks along Biscayne Boulevard. If venue staff direct cars elsewhere that evening, the driver follows their instructions.

Can the Driver Wait During the Show and Drive Us Home?

Yes. The driver waits nearby for the whole performance, and the vehicle stays reserved for your group only. Send a WhatsApp message as the final song ends, and the car comes back to the same drop-off point to pick everyone up. From there you can go straight home to Surfside or stop for a late dinner first.

Where Should You Eat in Surfside Before the Show? 🍸

Surfside’s dining ranges from The Surf Club Restaurant to the casual spots along Harding Avenue.

For a milestone night, The Surf Club Restaurant at the Four Seasons brings Thomas Keller’s classic, dress-up dining to the oceanfront, a fitting start for fans who have loved this music for decades. Harding Avenue, Surfside’s small downtown strip, is more relaxed, with neighborhood coffee shops and casual restaurants where a group can talk about favorite albums over an early plate. Just north, Bal Harbour Shops has several polished restaurants along its open-air walkways, which is handy for a group that wants options. Some parties favor to eat closer to the show: the driver can stop in the Design District or Midtown on the way down, or near the performing arts district itself, and wait outside while you finish. Because the same car stays with you, you set the order of the evening, and nobody has to leave the table early to go obtain a car. These are only suggestions, so book your own table.

Can We Combine Dinner and the Show in One Booking?

Yes. One hourly booking covers the Surfside pickup, dinner wherever you choose, the show, and the ride home, and the driver waits between each stop. An afternoon start keeps dinner unhurried. Tell us the restaurant when you book, and the driver will time the drive downtown around your reservation.

Where Can the Group Go After the Show Before Heading Home? 🍾

After the final song, the same driver can take the group to other nearby spots before heading back to Surfside.

Plenty of guests desire to keep the night going once the house lights come up. Brickell, just south of downtown, has late dining rooms and rooftop bars for a round of toasts. Wynwood, a short hop north, suits a group that wants to walk past the murals and find a lively bar. Closer to home, some riders favor a quiet nightcap back in Bal Harbour or a late bite on Harding Avenue before being dropped at the door. Edgewater and Midtown are right on the way north, so a dessert stop there needs no detour. Wherever you go, the car waits nearby at each stop and moves only when you do, so you never have to hunt for a ride at a busy hour. Keep an eye on the clock if the evening stretches toward nine, since the night surcharge described further down may apply.

Which Vehicle Fits Your Group for the Ride Downtown? 🚙

Four private vehicle tiers cover everything from a couple’s night out to a large party of fans.

  • Black SUV XL: up to 5 passengers, a comfortable fit for a couple or a small group of friends.
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: 6 to 9 passengers, with a roomy cabin that keeps a mid-size group together.
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: 10 to 14 passengers, for an extended family or a large group of fans traveling as one.
  • Platinum SUV: 1 to 5 passengers, a step up in finish and comfort for a special night. Reference Cars: Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition

Select by headcount first, then by the feel you desire for the night, from the understated Black SUV XL to the polished Platinum SUV. Send your final headcount when you book so the right vehicle is set aside for October 9.

Is There a Private Van From Surfside to the Show for a Larger Group?

Yes. A private Mercedes-Benz Sprinter takes larger groups from Surfside to the show and back, reserved only for your party. It never runs on a fixed schedule or picks up other riders; you choose the pickup time, the stops, and when to head home. The hourly rate covers the whole van, so groups often split it among themselves.

How Is the Booking Paid For? 🚐

Payment is simple and arranged over WhatsApp.

  • Accepted methods: card or Apple Pay through the secure checkout on the site, or a Stripe payment link sent to you on WhatsApp.
  • Payment: the full fare, paid at booking, holds your date.
  • Hours: 5-hour minimum, and you can keep the car longer whenever you like. Every hour after that first block is added at the same flat per-hour rate, never a renegotiated fare, and you settle it after the day wraps up.

Which Booking Facts Matter Most for Surfside Riders? 🕴️

  • One dedicated vehicle and one driver stay with your group all evening.
  • Your chauffeur is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish.
  • Onboard WiFi runs through a mobile hotspot in the vehicle.
  • You choose every stop, the order, and how long you stay.
  • Service runs every day, around the clock, including late evenings.
  • Pickup details, timing, and stops are all confirmed over WhatsApp.

Does a Night Surcharge Apply After the Show Ends? 🎆

Daytime hours run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no surcharge. Any time outside that window adds the amounts below.

  • SUV (1-5 passengers): +$50 USD surcharge for pickups between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
  • Van (6-14 passengers): +10% surcharge over the hourly total for pickups between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

For this show, the timing of your block usually decides whether a surcharge applies. The night fee depends only on the pickup time: for pickups between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM the SUV adds $50 (vans +10% of the hourly total), once per booking. The SUV surcharge is a single fixed amount per trip, while the Sprinter surcharge is a percentage of the trip value, both exactly as listed.

Why Do Surfside Fans Book Our Chauffeur for Show Night? 🥃

Surfside riders book us for a private vehicle, a bilingual chauffeur, and one locked rate.

The car is reserved for your group alone, from the first pickup on Collins Avenue to the last drop-off at your door. The flat hourly rate is set when you book, with no surge for Friday traffic, weather, or a full house downtown. One dedicated driver stays with you for the whole block, so you deal with one familiar face, one clean vehicle, and one plan instead of a string of strangers. That driver stays through the performance and is a WhatsApp message away all night, so changing the plan is as simple as sending a text. This is premium service in the plainest sense: someone else handles the roads, the timing, and the parking while you focus on the music and the stories. For an intimate evening with an artist who has shaped decades of rock and poetry, that better experience is the whole point.

How Does Booking a Chauffeur by the Hour Work? 🚐

You select a vehicle, set a start time, and keep the same driver for all your booked hours.

Start by matching the vehicle to your headcount, then send the start time and the stops you’d like to create. Pickup can be at any Miami address you agree on at booking: a Surfside home or hotel, Miami International Airport, or a PortMiami cruise terminal. That means a guest who lands or gets off a ship that day can go straight to dinner and the show. From that moment the driver is yours for the full block, following the order you set and waiting at every stop. The first five hours are the base of the booking. After that, every extra hour is merely added at the same flat per-hour rate, with no new fare to negotiate, so you can keep the car as long as the evening needs and settle the extra time after the day ends. Add a stop, skip one, or stay longer; the plan adjusts to you.

Can You Book a Private Driver From Surfside to the Patti Smith Show? 🎭

Yes, you can reserve a private chauffeur from Surfside to the Patti Smith show for your group alone.

This is not a seat on a scheduled run or a car you drive yourself: the vehicle and the bilingual chauffeur belong to your party for the whole booking. Surfside riders utilize it in different ways. A couple might book the Platinum SUV for a birthday dinner by the ocean before the show. A book club might fill a Sprinter and stop for coffee on the way down. A family visiting from out of town might create the concert part of a full afternoon of sightseeing along Ocean Drive and at Bayside Marketplace. The format is the same every time: one car, one driver, your stops, your timing. The questions below cover the practical details for this night, from timing to pets.

How Many Hours Should We Book Around the Show’s Run Time?

Book enough hours to cover the pickup, dinner, the full performance, and the ride home. The show is a single evening of readings and songs, so the minimum block usually fits comfortably even if you eat first. Check the venue’s listing for the posted run time, and add hours on the day if you need them.

Does the Hourly Service Stay Around Miami?

Yes, this is an unhurried local service that stays on call around the city: Miami, Miami Beach, Downtown Miami, Brickell, Coral Gables, Doral, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Wynwood, Little Havana, the area around Miami International Airport, and nearby areas up toward Fort Lauderdale. Longer runs to places like Naples, Orlando, or West Palm Beach aren’t part of this hourly service.

Can We Bring a Pet Along for the Ride?

Pets are not accepted; certified service animals are welcome with advance notice. Telling us early gives us time to check and get everything ready before your Surfside pickup.

What If We Book Within 24 Hours of the Show?

If you book within 24 hours of the service, your date and time are locked in and held just for you, with a driver and vehicle already set aside. On such short notice we can’t guarantee a date change or a refund, so the evening goes ahead as agreed. You can always add more hours on the day.

Booking a Chauffeur for the Day vs. Stacking App Rides

Reserving one premium service by the hour is a different thing from opening an app every time you move. You hold a single vehicle and a single bilingual chauffeur for the whole block, the price is fixed before you start, and the car simply waits while you eat, shop, or take photos — no re-requesting, no surge, no stranger learning where you are headed each time.

By the hour with us App rides (Uber / Lyft)
One flat hourly rate, locked before you start A fresh fare every ride, surging 1.5×–4× at peak
The same vehicle and driver stay with you all day A different car and a stranger at every pickup
Your driver waits between each stop — nothing to re-book Re-request and wait at the curb after each stop
A vetted, professional bilingual chauffeur Whoever happens to accept the ping

Across a full day of stops, one reserved chauffeur usually lands below a string of Uber Black or Lyft Lux surges — and it stays a calmer, more premium service from the first pickup to the last drop-off.

When Should You Reserve Your Surfside Pickup for October 9? 🎊

Reserve as soon as you have your show tickets, so the right vehicle is set aside for you.

Booking early matters most for larger groups, because it keeps every vehicle tier available. Message us on WhatsApp with your headcount, your address in Surfside, a rough start time, and the restaurant or stops you have in mind. We confirm the plan in the same thread, and your date is held once your payment arrives. On October 9 your chauffeur arrives at the agreed spot, and the rest of the evening moves at your pace: dinner by the ocean or downtown, the readings and songs, and a calm ride back up the coast when the night is done. Whether you have followed her since the first records or are bringing a friend who just finished “Just Kids,” the ride should be as well planned as the show. Send your details now to check availability and confirm your booking.

👥 Will the ride be shared with other passengers?

No. We only work with private transfers. The vehicle is reserved exclusively for you and your party, with no shared seating.

✈️ What happens if my flight is early, delayed, or canceled?

No problem. We track your flight in real time and adjust the pickup time when needed, at no extra charge.

🔁 And if my flight arrives early, is delayed, or canceled?

Send us the updated information as soon as possible, and we’ll adjust your booking while monitoring the new flight status.

📍 Do you offer meet-and-greet at the airport?

We primarily work with curbside pickup. Just send a message with your exit gate and the driver will arrive in a few minutes — usually faster than the traditional sign-holding service.

If you prefer the driver to wait inside the terminal with a sign bearing your name, add the Meet & Greet for US$ 40 when you book — available for airport pickups only.

🚘 How will I recognize my pickup driver?

The day before your trip, we’ll send you a message with the driver’s name, vehicle model, and license plate, along with detailed instructions for curbside pickup.

📞 What do I do if I can't reach my driver?

Don’t worry. We’ll send you a message as soon as your flight lands. If we don’t receive a quick reply, the driver will automatically head to the international arrivals hall. Wait there and we’ll find you.

⏱ How long does the driver wait after my arrival?

For domestic flights, we offer up to 60 minutes of wait time after arrival.

For international flights, the courtesy time is up to 120 minutes.

For hotel pickups, there’s a 15-minute grace period.

For port pickups, we wait up to 60 minutes past the agreed time.

⏳ What happens when a passenger takes more than two hours to leave the airport?

Two hours is the free wait for international flights. When your free waiting time ends, extra waiting is not automatic: your driver may text you an offer to keep waiting, but is not required to. If the offer is sent, the driver waits up to 10 minutes for your reply; if you don’t accept in that time, the driver may leave. If no offer is sent, the driver may leave once your free waiting time is over.

👜 Does the driver help with luggage?

Yes. Our drivers help load and unload your bags.

📦 Do you accept extra or oversized baggage?

The standard allowance includes one large suitcase and one carry-on per person.

Traveling with larger or additional items — extra suitcases, musical instruments, mobility equipment, or strollers? Contact us in advance so we can arrange the necessary space. An additional fee may apply.

🐾 Can I bring my dog or cat in the vehicle?

We’re sorry — pets are not accepted on any of our services. Certified service animals are welcome: please tell us in advance and we’ll assign a van for the ride.

🥤 Can I eat or drink during the ride?

We ask that you don’t eat during the trip. Only water in sealed bottles is allowed on board.

🚧 Can we make a quick stop during the ride?

With by-the-hour service, stops are included: the vehicle is yours for the hours you book.

🕒 Can I change my pickup time after booking?

Yes. The pickup time and other details (an extra passenger) can be changed until 24 hours before the ride, depending on availability. Within 24 hours of the ride there are no changes and no refunds — message us on WhatsApp and we’ll see what we can do. The travel date itself is fixed once booked.

💲 Are there additional charges beyond the quoted price?

No hidden fees: the quoted price includes the driver, fuel and tolls. Only optional extras add to it — the night-hours fee shown in your quote before you book, the optional Meet & Greet at Miami International Airport and the 4% processing fee on card payments made through the payment link. Driver gratuity is optional and at your discretion; it’s always welcome.

❌ What is your cancellation policy?

You get a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Within 24 hours of the ride, the booking is non-refundable.

Note: any refund claim — including a driver no-show or another service issue — must reach us within 30 days of your scheduled pickup. Requests made more than a month after the ride date are no longer eligible for review or refund.
