Our private hourly chauffeur takes you from Miami Beach to An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith on October 9, 2026, in a Black SUV XL at a flat rate from $100 per hour, with a 5-hour minimum. Your bilingual driver picks you up at any address in Miami Beach and crosses the bay before the 7:00 PM start. The driver then waits through the show and drives your group home.
Rates are set per vehicle, and every booking covers at least five hours.
Choose the tier based on how many people are coming and how you want the evening to feel. A couple or a few friends fit comfortably in the Black SUV XL. A book club, a family, or a group of longtime fans can ride together in a Sprinter and arrive as one party. For a Friday-night show, numerous Miami Beach groups book a block that starts with an unhurried dinner close to home and ends with the drive back across the bay. That way one reservation covers the whole night instead of two separate trips. Each tier is priced per vehicle, not per person, so the Sprinter tiers create the most sense when a larger group splits the cost.
Patti Smith reads, tells stories, and sings in Miami on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
The evening is built around her new memoir, Bread of Angels. The Adrienne Arsht Center is presenting it with Books & Books and the Miami Book Fair, so anticipate something closer to a literary salon with music than a loud rock concert. Her son Jackson Smith plays guitar alongside her longtime bandmate Tony Shanahan. The program moves between readings, memories of downtown New York, and songs fans have loved since Horses. The show takes place in the Ziff Ballet Opera House, one of the center’s grand halls on Biscayne Boulevard. The full listing is on the An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith event page. A quiet, word-driven night like this is top when you arrive calm, and a private car across the bay makes that easy.
Most of the audience are longtime fans who found her through Horses, the CBGB years, or her memoir Just Kids. Poets, readers, and musicians come too. Expect a thoughtful crowd dressed for an evening out, not a mosh pit. Many come as couples or old friends making an occasion of it, which is why sharing one private car home makes sense.
Your chauffeur crosses Biscayne Bay by causeway and heads straight into Downtown’s arts district.
On a quiet evening the drive from Miami Beach is typically short, but Friday nights are rarely quiet. Commuters leaving Downtown, diners heading to the beach, and crowds going to other shows all utilize the same bridges. Permit plenty of extra time rather than counting on the fastest possible crossing. Your driver checks live traffic before you set off and picks whichever causeway is moving, so the plan adjusts without you having to think about it. Once over the bridge, the route heads toward Biscayne Boulevard, where the performing arts center sits between the bay and the Omni area. In the back seat, you can read up on the evening, text the friends meeting you, or watch the skyline rise over the water while the driver handles the traffic, the ramps, and the final approach.
From South Beach and South of Fifth, the MacArthur Causeway is usually the natural choice because it feeds into I-395, which runs right beside the arts district. When the MacArthur is backed up, the Venetian Causeway is a slower, scenic alternative across the residential islands. Your driver decides between them on the spot.
From the Mid-Beach hotels and the neighborhoods farther north, the Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-195) is typically the most direct crossing. It reaches the mainland near Midtown. From there the driver heads south to the venue on Biscayne Boulevard or the interstate, whichever is moving better that evening.
Leave Miami Beach well before the 7:00 PM start, with time to spare.
At a show built on readings and songs, walking in late means missing a story you came to hear, so plan the schedule backward from the start time. Permit for Friday bridge traffic and the slow crawl along Biscayne Boulevard as other guests arrive. Leave a few relaxed minutes to find your seats, visit the restroom, and settle in before the lights go down. If dinner comes first, start earlier still and let the driver keep an eye on the clock. Tell them the start time once, and they can suggest when to ask for the check. After the final song, step outside and send a swift WhatsApp message. The same car and chauffeur that brought you will be ready to take the group back across the bay, whether you’re going to a hotel lobby on Collins Avenue or a quiet street on one of the islands.
The driver gets you as close to the venue as access allows, stopping at the drop-off point nearest your hall’s entrance on the Biscayne Boulevard side. You step out near the entrance with no garage to find and no long walk from a far-off lot. The driver then parks nearby and waits.
Yes. Waiting is part of every hourly booking. Your chauffeur stays nearby for the whole performance, keeps the car ready, and answers on WhatsApp the moment you need them. You won’t have to request another ride after the encore or stand at the curb wondering where your car is.
You choose the pickup address in Miami Beach when you book.
That could be the lobby of an oceanfront hotel on Collins Avenue, a condo tower in South of Fifth, a home on the Venetian or Sunset Islands, or an apartment near North Beach. We agree on the exact spot when you book, so the driver knows precisely where to be. At a hotel, the car pulls up at the main entrance and the driver messages you on WhatsApp when it arrives, so nobody has to wait around in the lobby. At a home, the car can wait at the curb or the building’s front door, whichever is easier. If one friend is still getting ready, the driver simply waits, because the hours are already yours. Wherever you start, the night begins without rushing: you walk out, get in, and the evening is underway.
Yes. You set the stops, so the driver can pick up friends from a hotel in South Beach, a condo in Mid-Beach, and a home on the islands before crossing to the show. Share every pickup address when you book, and the driver will plan the best order around the evening’s timing.
Yes, one hourly booking easily covers dinner in Miami Beach and the show.
Numerous guests plan the night in two parts: an early dinner close to home, then the drive across the bay. Sunset Harbour, on the quiet bay side of South Beach, has relaxed neighborhood restaurants that suit a pre-show meal. Lincoln Road offers outdoor tables and people-watching, and South of Fifth has more refined spots for an anniversary or birthday. Your chauffeur drops you at the restaurant, waits while you eat, and pulls up when you’re ready, so there’s no valet line and no need to rush the check. If you’d rather eat near the venue, the driver can cross early and wait outside a restaurant in Downtown or Edgewater instead. These are just ideas a local driver is happy to suggest. You choose the restaurant and create the reservation, and the chauffeur plans the evening’s timing around it.
Often, yes. Books & Books, one of the evening’s presenters, has a shop on Lincoln Road, and a browse fits in easily before dinner if you start the booking a little earlier. A copy of Just Kids or a poetry collection makes good reading for the ride across the bay. The driver waits outside while you shop.
A private chauffeur makes a Friday show night calmer and more enjoyable.
The vehicle is reserved for your group alone and never shared with strangers. One dedicated driver stays with you from the first pickup to the final drop-off. That driver speaks English and Spanish, which helps when your group includes visiting family or friends from abroad. The flat hourly rate is locked when you book. There’s no surge for a hectic Friday, a packed house, or a rainy evening, and the hourly rate you agreed to never changes. You also have a direct WhatsApp line to your driver instead of a call center, so changing plans takes a single message. Above all, this is a upscale service built around the night itself. Nobody circles for parking, nobody has to skip the wine to drive, and everyone can enjoy dinner and every word on stage.
You reserve one vehicle and one driver for a block of at least five hours.
Start by messaging us on WhatsApp with your group size, a rough start time, and the stops you have in mind: dinner, the show, maybe a nightcap. We match the vehicle to your group and agree on the pickup spot. The driver can meet you at any Miami address: a hotel, a PortMiami cruise terminal on arrival day (you can go straight to the event), Miami International Airport, or your home. The car and chauffeur are then yours for the whole block. You set the stops and the pace, add or drop a destination, and stay longer wherever the night is going well. Bookings start at five hours. If you want more time, each extra hour is simply added at the same per-hour rate, with no new fare to negotiate, and you settle it once the night is over. Keep the car as long as you require it.
Yes. The plan is never fixed. Many guests want to keep talking about the show, and the driver can take you to a cocktail bar in Brickell, a late spot in Wynwood, or a hotel bar in South Beach before the final drop-off. If the night runs long, just keep adding hours.
You’re welcome to. When you book service for the next 24 hours, the date and time are locked in and held just for you, with a driver and vehicle already set aside. On that short notice we can’t guarantee a date change or a refund, so the evening goes ahead as agreed. On the day itself, you can always add more hours.
You pay the full fare when you book.
Fuel, tolls, and parking are all included in the hourly rate.
That means no garage fee near the venue, no bridge toll, and no fuel charge added at the end of the night. Each vehicle has onboard WiFi through a mobile hotspot, which is handy for pulling up digital tickets or sharing photos after the show. A short comfort stop for a restroom, a snack, or a stretch is easy during the booking. Just ask the driver, and the rate stays the same. There’s room for a tote of books and any merch you pick up. If you’re bringing something large, tell us in advance. Apart from extra hours, the only other charge is the night surcharge for trips outside daytime hours. It’s explained in the next section and applies to most evening shows.
Pets are not accepted; certified service animals are welcome with advance notice.
Daytime hours run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no surcharge. Trips outside that window carry a night surcharge that depends on the vehicle.
The night fee depends only on the pickup time: for pickups between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM the SUV adds $50 (vans +10% of the hourly total), once per booking. For an SUV it’s a single flat add-on for the trip, and for the Sprinter it’s a percentage of the trip value. We spell it out when we confirm your booking over WhatsApp, so you know the full cost before you pay and nothing surprises you at the end of the evening.
Choose by group size first, then by how polished you want the arrival to feel.
If your group falls between two sizes, the larger vehicle leaves room for coats, tote bags, and anyone who decides to join at the last minute. Tell us your final headcount when you book, and we’ll reserve the right tier.
Yes. A private chauffeur hired by the hour covers the whole night from Miami Beach.
If you’re searching for a private shuttle to the show, what you get here is more personal: a private vehicle carrying only your group, with no seats sold to strangers and no stops for anyone else. A couple celebrating an anniversary can talk quietly on the way over. A group of old friends who first heard Horses together can pick up the conversation where they left off. A relative visiting Miami for the first time can watch the skyline go by. The car is already yours, so the ride home starts when you’re ready, not whenever a car happens to be free. Because the chauffeur is booked by the hour, the night can include dinner, a detour to see the bay lit up, or a last drink, all with the same driver who picked you up.
Yes. That’s the venue’s full official name, and our hourly chauffeurs drive guests there for every kind of evening, from ballet and opera to concerts and author nights. For the Patti Smith show, send your Miami Beach pickup address, group size, and dinner plans on WhatsApp to check availability.
The service stays local and on call around the city. It covers Miami, Miami Beach, Downtown Miami, Brickell, Wynwood, Little Havana, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Key Biscayne, Doral, and the area around Miami International Airport, plus nearby areas up toward Fort Lauderdale. Staying close to the city keeps the service relaxed and on call. Longer trips to places like Naples, Orlando, or West Palm Beach aren’t part of this hourly service.
Reserve as soon as you have your tickets so the vehicle you want is secured for the evening. Send your group size, Miami Beach pickup address, rough start time, and any dinner stop on WhatsApp. Once everything is confirmed, your vehicle and chauffeur are set aside for the night.
Reserving one premium service by the hour is a different thing from opening an app every time you move. You hold a single vehicle and a single bilingual chauffeur for the whole block, the price is fixed before you start, and the car simply waits while you eat, shop, or take photos — no re-requesting, no surge, no stranger learning where you are headed each time.
| By the hour with us | App rides (Uber / Lyft) |
|---|---|
| One flat hourly rate, locked before you start | A fresh fare every ride, surging 1.5×–4× at peak |
| The same vehicle and driver stay with you all day | A different car and a stranger at every pickup |
| Your driver waits between each stop — nothing to re-book | Re-request and wait at the curb after each stop |
| A vetted, professional bilingual chauffeur | Whoever happens to accept the ping |
Across a full day of stops, one reserved chauffeur usually lands below a string of Uber Black or Lyft Lux surges — and it stays a calmer, more premium service from the first pickup to the last drop-off.

Message us on WhatsApp to check availability for Friday, October 9.
Tell us how many people are coming, where in Miami Beach the evening starts, what time you’d like to be picked up, and whether you want dinner, a bookshop visit, or a nightcap in the plan. We’ll reply with the right vehicle for your group and explain how to pay. Once the booking is confirmed, your chauffeur and car are held for your night, and you can change stops by message as your plans come together. On the evening itself, all you have to do is get dressed for the show and step outside when the car arrives. Someone else handles the bridges and the curb. Patti Smith has spent a lifetime telling stories worth hearing in full, so arrive relaxed, stay for every song, and ride home together.

If no offer is sent, the driver may leave once your free waiting time is over.

Driver gratuity is optional and at your discretion; it’s always welcome.
You get a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Within 24 hours of the ride, the booking is non-refundable.
