Your Morning Off the Ship 🏆

The Winterset Suites in Fort Lauderdale 🗺️

The Winterset Suites sits in Fort Lauderdale, roughly 31.7 miles up the coast from the cruise terminals at Port of Miami. For travelers stepping off a ship, it makes a peaceful base away from the crowds of the terminal — close enough to reach in under an hour and a half, yet firmly its own corner of South Florida. The hotel keeps you within easy reach of the water, the beach, and the walkable heart of the city, so the day you arrive can turn into more than a transfer between two points.

Fort Lauderdale earned the name the Venice of America for a reason: canals thread the city from Las Olas out to the Intracoastal, and the beachfront promenade runs for miles along the sand. From The Winterset Suites you are set up to savor that layout — the Riverwalk winding through downtown, Fort Lauderdale Beach a short move away, and quieter green space at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park when you desire shade and trees instead of surf.

Guests who land here frequently fold a little sightseeing into the same journey. The historic Bonnet House, with its gardens and grounds, sits nearby and rewards an unhurried afternoon. Whether the plan is a beach day, a slow lunch along the canals, or a walk down Las Olas before checking in, arriving by a private ride means your bags are handled and your time is yours from the first minute ashore.

How the Ride to The Winterset Suites Goes 🕒

The journey runs door to door. Your chauffeur is staged at your ship’s own terminal on Dodge Island before you clear the arrivals hall, so the wait belongs to the driver, not to you. Bags go straight from the terminal curb into the vehicle, one group only, and the route heads north on I-95 as a single direct leg — no shared stops, no detours to collect strangers along the way.

Plan on roughly 55 to 72 minutes from the terminal to the hotel door, depending on traffic and the hour. Disembarkation mornings stack up quickly at the exits, but with a car already waiting and one straight run up the highway, the drive to The Winterset Suites stays simple. Luggage help is included at both ends, and the flat rate already covers gas and typical tolls.

The little ones were half asleep when we walked off, and a private van right at the terminal got everyone to The Winterset Suites in one piece. The ride from the terminal to The Winterset Suites was easy the whole way, and we could just settle in. We were dropped right at the front door of The Winterset Suites, not on a corner with the bags.

We cruised as a group and wanted everyone and the luggage in one private ride to The Winterset Suites after disembarking. It was a private car for our party alone — no side pickups — so much nicer than piling in with strangers. Booking was easy, we got clear pickup details, and everything lined up perfectly.

Stepping off the ship, having the ride already handled to The Winterset Suites was such a relief. There was a name sign at the terminal doors, so we didn’t have to look around.
