Leaving the Ship at Port of Miami 🧭
Walk off, clear the terminal, and the private vehicle is already outside. Bags in, and the car heads out of the port.
The Neptune Resort on Fort Myers Beach 🗺️
The Neptune Resort sits right on the sand of Estero Island, the barrier island that locals call Fort Myers Beach. The address is 2310 Estero Boulevard, and the water is only steps from the door, so plenty of guests trade the ship’s deck for real sand the same afternoon they walk off the cruise. Estero Island keeps things barefoot and easygoing: wide, open beach running the length of the island, and warm Gulf water at the doorstep.
The heart of the island is the Times Square pier district, a simple cluster of shops, food, and the fishing pier that anchors the beachfront. Both ends of the island open onto passes where dolphins are a regular sight, so a slow walk along the shore frequently turns up more than shells. Whatever your pace, the resort puts you within reach of the sand-and-sea rhythm that draws people back to this corner of the Gulf coast.
There is more to explore just beyond the resort. Lovers Key State Park sits a short way down the coast, with quiet beach and mangrove water for anyone who wants a break from the busier stretches. Matanzas Pass is close by as well, framing the north end of the island. Between the pier district, the open beach at the door, and the parks at either edge, The Neptune Resort makes a simple base for a stay built entirely around the shoreline.
How the Ride to The Neptune Resort Goes 🕒
The ride begins the moment your group clears the cruise terminal on Dodge Island. Your chauffeur tracks the ship’s actual arrival and is waiting at the curb of your line’s terminal, so there is no line to join and no search for a car. Bags go straight into the vehicle, and the whole group rides together in one reserved SUV or van, the same car from the port all the way to the resort door.
From the terminal it is a single, direct leg of about 147.8 miles, running mostly on I-595 across the state to the Gulf coast. Plan on roughly 164 to 175 minutes door to door, a little more in heavy traffic. The pickup is timed with room to spare rather than cut to the minute, so the pace of customs never costs you the ride.

Getting all of us off the ship and over to The Neptune Resort is usually a headache, but one pre-booked private van took the stress right out of it. For a stress-free way to get from the ship to The Neptune Resort, it was absolutely worth booking. We were dropped at the entrance of The Neptune Resort, not on a corner with the bags.

The two of us booked a private transfer for after the cruise so we wouldn’t hunt for a ride getting over to The Neptune Resort. Getting to The Neptune Resort straight from the terminal meant we could drop the bags and start the day.

Walking off the ship solo, the last thing I wanted was to stand in a taxi line at the port, so I had a private car waiting for the run to The Neptune Resort. Getting to The Neptune Resort with no detours meant I could check in and finally shower after the week at sea.
