Where Your Driver Waits at PortMiami 🚢

On disembarkation morning the driver plans around the ship’s arrival and waits at the curb outside your terminal at PortMiami. The curbside greeting at the terminal is included; the Meet & Greet at the terminal, your driver holding a name sign, is available for $40. Luggage goes straight from the terminal into the vehicle and the ride leaves private and direct.

Arriving at Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 in Plantation 🗺️

Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 sits in Plantation, and it is the single address this ride is built around. After a week of cabins and gangways, having one fixed point to aim for changes the whole arrival — you step off the ship knowing exactly where the day ends. The resort works as a home base for the nights that follow your sailing, the place where the luggage finally comes off your shoulders and the journey slows down.

What you locate on arrival is a proper front desk rather than a scramble. If your room is not ready, the resort holds luggage so you are free to move without dragging bags behind you, and early check-in is worth asking about when your ship clears customs ahead of the typical hour. The on-site amenities are part of why a resort stay reads differently from a plain overnight — you settle in once and let the property carry the rest of the visit.

Plantation itself is a calmer stretch of South Florida, set back from the noise of the waterfront and the cruise crowds. That distance is the appeal: after the port, arriving here feels like arriving somewhere you can actually rest. The driver brings you to the resort door, so your first steps off the road are into the lobby rather than a parking lot — the last leg of the journey handled the same care as the first.

How the Ride to Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 Works 🧭

From the moment your ship docks at Port of Miami, the driver is already tracking your arrival, waiting curbside at the terminal rather than leaving you to locate a ride. Bags go straight into the vehicle — you carry nothing across a parking lot. It is one private vehicle for your group, booked in advance, so the pickup is planned around your ship and not around whatever happens to be available that morning.

From the pier it is a single highway run of roughly 215 miles to the resort door. You stay in the same vehicle the whole way, with your own space and your luggage beside you, and the driver stops only when you ask. It is a long stretch of road, which is exactly when a private car pays off — a steady drive from the terminal curb straight to Fairfield Plantation Resort 1.

My husband and I came down the gangway at PortMiami and a private car was already at the curb to take us to Fairfield Plantation Resort 1. We went from the ship to the front desk of Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 with nothing to worry about in between. Honestly the easiest part of the whole trip — ship to hotel door with zero stress.

The little ones were done after a week at sea when we walked off, and a private van right at the terminal got everyone to Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 before anyone lost it. We were dropped right at the front door of Fairfield Plantation Resort 1, not down the block.

Cruising with the family, we didn’t want any disembarkation-day chaos, so a private van waiting at the terminal Fairfield Plantation Resort 1 was worth every bit. We went from the terminal to a real bed with zero hassle along the way. It was a private car for our party alone — no side pickups — so much nicer than piling in with strangers.
