Leaving the Ship at Port of Miami 🧭

Walk off, clear the terminal, and the private vehicle is already outside. The driver knows which terminal the ship uses and times the pickup to the real disembarkation, with the curbside greeting included in the fare and the Meet & Greet at the terminal available for $40 if you want it. Bags in, and the car heads out of the port.

Where SunState Suites Puts You in the Orlando Area 🗺️

SunState Suites is a suites-style property in the Orlando area, the kind of base you settle into after a long travel day rather than a swift overnight stop. It sits roughly 240 miles up the state from the Port of Miami cruise terminals, reached by way of Florida’s Turnpike and I-95, so it lands your group squarely in Central Florida once the coast is behind you. The suite format means room to spread out — space to regroup, sort cruise luggage, and rest before whatever comes next.

The location puts you within reach of the reason most travelers point a trip toward Orlando in the first place: the theme parks. There is a real city here too, though, beyond the gates. Downtown, Lake Eola and its resident swans make for a peaceful walk away from the crowds. Winter Park’s Park Avenue lines up boutiques and cafes for an easy afternoon, and the Kia Center hosts arena nights when a game or a show lands on the calendar.

For a group coming straight off a ship, SunState Suites works as a landing pad and a launch point at once. You can drop bags, catch your breath, and plan the parks or the city on your own clock instead of racing from the terminal to a tight check-in. Families settle in easily, and the suite space handles the mix of carry-ons and checked bags a cruise sends everyone home with. Arrive, unpack once, and let the rest of the Orlando trip open up from there.

How the Drive to SunState Suites Goes 🧭

The ride starts curbside at the cruise terminal once you clear disembarkation. Your chauffeur is already staged when you come off the ship, so the wait belongs to the driver, not to you. Bags go straight into the vehicle at the terminal curb — no dragging luggage across a lot — and the run to SunState Suites is a single direct leg by Florida’s Turnpike and I-95, roughly 240 miles from the port.

Plan on somewhere between 234 and 245 minutes terminal to door, depending on the hour and the traffic. The vehicle is yours alone for the trip, so you keep your own space and your own climate the whole way, and the driver coordinates the pickup around your ship’s arrival rather than around whatever happens to be free that morning. One group, one vehicle, straight through to the door.

My husband and I walked off the ship at PortMiami and a private car was already at the curb to take us to SunState Suites. We were dropped at the entrance of SunState Suites, not down the block. The last thing you want after a week at sea is a ride that falls through, and this was rock solid.

Getting a big group off the ship and over to SunState Suites is usually a headache, but one pre-booked private van made it effortless. We went from the terminal to a real bed with nothing to worry about in between. We’ve already saved them for our next cruise out of PortMiami.
