Book with the ship’s name and the date, and the driver handles the rest at PortMiami: waiting at the correct terminal, helping with the suitcases, and leaving the port without a queue. The curbside greeting costs nothing extra; the Meet & Greet at the terminal with a name sign adds $40.
Spectrum Resort Villas Orlando, part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, is a villa-style property set in the Kissimmee region, in the stretch of vacation-home country that spreads southwest of Orlando’s theme parks. Rather than a single tower, it belongs to the region’s belt of gated resort communities, where pool homes, golf, and lake scenery shape the setting. For a family stepping off a cruise, it offers room to spread out after days spent in a cabin.
The location keeps you within easy reach of Orlando’s main draws while holding a quieter, residential feel. This is golf-and-lake country — fairways, gated neighborhoods, and the chain of lakes that give the region its green, unhurried character. The property works well as a base for the parks and for a slower few days once the sailing is behind you.
On arrival you locate a resort geared to longer, self-catering stays — the villa format that suits groups traveling together off one ship. Nearby, ChampionsGate and Reunion Resort round out the region’s golf, while the surrounding lakes and state parkland give the region its outdoor draw. It is the kind of place people book for the space and the peaceful, a short drive from the parks yet set apart from the busiest tourist corridors.
The ride runs door to door from your ship’s own terminal on Dodge Island to the resort, one private vehicle reserved for your group alone. Your chauffeur tracks the disembarkation and meets you at the terminal curb, loads every bag, and takes Florida’s Turnpike north — a single, direct leg with no transfers along the way.
Plan on roughly 239 miles and about four to four and a half hours terminal to door, depending on traffic. Weekend mornings are the port’s busiest, when thousands of passengers walk off at once, so the pickup is timed to when you actually leave the ship rather than a fixed clock. Bags stay in the vehicle the whole way, and the route is planned around your sailing.
