Where Your Driver Waits at PortMiami 🚢

On disembarkation morning the driver plans around the ship’s arrival and waits at the curb outside your terminal at PortMiami. The curbside greeting at the terminal is included; the Meet & Greet at the terminal, your driver holding a name sign, is available for $40. Luggage goes straight from the terminal into the vehicle and the ride leaves private and direct.

What Awaits at Solara Resort 🗺️

Solara Resort sits south of Disney, in the stretch of the Kissimmee region where the Irlo Bronson Highway runs past one resort and pool-home community after another. It is a resort address rather than a downtown one, the kind of place families point to after a cruise when the plan is a few days of space, a pool, and room to spread out. The setting is central Florida vacation country, close to the parks yet its own quiet corner off the highway.

What you locate on arrival is a property built around the practical side of a family stay. The hotel end handles the things that matter after a long travel day — on-site amenities, somewhere to hold your luggage, and early check-in when it can be arranged — all confirmed through Solara Resort’s own official page. Your driver brings you to the main entrance, luggage and all, so the first thing you do here is walk in the door rather than sort out the last mile from a drop-off point somewhere else.

The region around it rewards a group that wants both the parks and a little breathing room. Neighboring, Lake Toho draws people out for its airboats, and the resorts and pool homes along the Irlo Bronson Highway keep everything within easy reach. For a cruise party heading straight from the ship, Solara Resort works as a single, clear destination — one address, one arrival — at the end of a long run north from the coast.

Your Ride from the Port to Solara Resort 🕒

The ride begins the moment you clear the ship. After disembarkation at your terminal on Dodge Island, your chauffeur meets you at the port, takes the bags, and loads them into the vehicle that stays yours alone for the journey. From the pier it is one continuous run — about 219.3 miles along Florida’s Turnpike — pointed north toward Solara Resort, with no shared stops and no strangers along for the ride.

Plan on roughly 228 to 237 minutes terminal to door, depending on the hour and the traffic on the Turnpike, which is the only real variable on a route this straight. Because the pickup follows your ship’s actual arrival rather than a fixed slot, a slow gangway does not cost you the car. Your luggage rides with you the whole way, and the driver hands you off at the main entrance of Solara Resort.

For an easy disembarkation, my wife and I had a private driver waiting for us at the cruise terminal to run us over to Solara Resort. The last thing you want after a week at sea is a ride that falls through, and this was rock solid. For a no-hassle way to get from the ship to Solara Resort, it was well worth it.
