Meeting Point at the Cruise Terminal 🚢

Arriving at Five Star Resorts in Pompano and Deerfield Beach 🗺️

Five Star Resorts sits up in Pompano and Deerfield Beach, the twin communities that hold down the northern edge of the Broward coast. From your ship’s terminal on Dodge Island, the property is roughly 40.6 miles away, and the drive follows I-95 straight north until the road delivers you to the door. This is a corner of the coast that has kept its own rhythm — a fishing culture that never packed up and left, and a shoreline that leans family rather than crowd. Booking the ride ahead means the address is set before you dock, so the move from the water to your room is one clean line.

What you locate on arrival is a pair of beach towns that share more than a county line. Pompano and Deerfield Beach both put renovated piers at the center of things, and the sand between them stays calm and simple — the kind of beach you can walk onto with kids and bags without a second thought. The pace here is unhurried, built around the water and the people who work it, and that shows the moment you step out of the vehicle at Five Star Resorts.

Once you are checked in and moving on your own, the neighborhood gives you ample to fill the days. The Pompano Beach Fishing Pier and the Deerfield Beach Pier are the natural first walks, both within reach of the property. The Pompano Beach Amphitheater draws people out for shows, and Quiet Waters Park sits close by when you want green space and open air instead of sand. For anyone planning extra time around Pompano and Deerfield Beach, the Greater Fort Lauderdale visitor resources map out the rest of the coast.

How the Ride from the Port Runs 🕒

The plan is simple by design. Your chauffeur meets your group at your ship’s own terminal on Dodge Island, organized by message as you clear the hall, and the bags go straight into the vehicle at the curb. From there it is a single leg north on I-95 — no pooled stops, no detours — with the whole party in one private vehicle reserved for you alone.

Ships rarely release everyone at the same minute, so the pickup is timed to your actual disembarkation rather than a fixed clock, and the wait window covers customs and the luggage hall while you finish up. Count on roughly 62 to 78 minutes from terminal to door depending on traffic, with the I-95 flow already figured into the timing. You walk out, the vehicle is waiting, and Five Star Resorts is the next stop.

First time cruising solo out of PortMiami, and having a private car ready at the curb for the trip to Five Star Resorts made it painless. The night before, I got a text with the driver’s name and plate number, so there was nothing to figure out on the way out. The ride from the terminal to Five Star Resorts was calm and comfortable, and I could just watch the city go by. No stress at all.

Easiest disembarkation we’ve had — driver at the curb, bags handled, straight to the door of Five Star Resorts. We were dropped at the entrance of Five Star Resorts, not on a corner with the bags.
